The Asbestos Inspector refresher training re-certifies individuals to survey, identify and assess the condition of asbestos and asbestos-containing material and record and report the results. EPA certified asbestos classes have a one-year certification with a one-year grace period. If you fail to take the refresher class by the expiration date you cannot perform the AHERA job duties until you take a refresher class. If you go longer than one year past your expiration date without taking a refresher class, you are required to retake the initial certification class. The Refresher Asbestos Air Clearance Monitor Course is for those individuals that will be collecting final air clearance samples following an abatement project that takes place in West Virginia. Initial Air Clearance Monitor Training
The Initial Asbestos Clearance Air Monitor Course is for those individuals that will be collecting final air clearance samples following an abatement project that takes place in West Virginia. A hands-on calibration and aggressive sampling exercise is included. Clearance air monitoring must be performed after every asbestos-related work project.
Refresher Contractor/Supervisor Training (CSR)
The Asbestos Contractor Supervisor Refresher training re-certifies individuals to supervise and direct asbestos workers performing abatement activities. An Asbestos Supervisor must have completed this training and have a valid Supervisor certificate with them at all times while working on qualifying projects. EPA certified asbestos classes have a one-year certification with a one-year grace period. If you fail to take the refresher class by the expiration date you cannot perform the AHERA job duties until you take a refresher class. If you go longer than one year past your expiration date without taking a refresher class, you are required to retake the initial certification class. Initial Management Planner Training
This Asbestos Management Planner Initial training course accredits individuals to be the AHERA Dedicated Person to assess an asbestos hazard and recommend appropriate response actions. This training is for those responsible for facility mitigation activities, including management of data associated with asbestos work, response action planning, scheduling and administration. The Management Planner also coordinates any activities of an asbestos operations and maintenance program. Individuals must have completed the Asbestos Building Inspector training before taking the Management Planner course.
